Why was my account temporarily limited?

What a temporary review means, why it happens, and how to submit an appeal from inside Thawly.

Why was my account temporarily limited?

If you see a banner at the top of Thawly that says "Your account has been temporarily limited pending review," it means our automated abuse-detection sweep flagged something on your account that we want a human to look at before we keep monitoring your companies.

The most common reasons for a flag are:

  • An unusually large or rapid CSV upload that looks more like a list scrape than a sales team's lost-deals list.
  • A high rate of regenerate-message clicks in a short window (a sign of scripted use rather than the typical "draft once, copy, send" workflow).
  • Sign-up traffic from an environment that doesn't match a normal browser (headless or non-human user agents).

While the limit is in place:

  • Your existing data is preserved — nothing is deleted.
  • New digest emails are paused so we don't send anything we can't fully vouch for during the review.
  • You can still sign in and review your account.

How to appeal

  1. Click "Submit appeal" on the in-app banner.
  2. Tell us in your own words what you were doing when the limit appeared and anything we should know that explains the activity.
  3. We typically respond within 1 business day.

If the limit was a false positive — which is the most common outcome — we'll clear the flag and resume your account immediately. If we need more information we'll reply by email.

Still stuck?

If you can't access the in-app banner for any reason, email hello@thawly.co.uk with the subject "Account review appeal" and we'll pick it up the same way.
